Happy New Year everyone! Hope that 2002 will be a great year for all you guys! ^^
Yet another year is about to pass. Time just flies so fast, it seemed that only a while that 2001 had just started, yet now 2002 will come in a few hours. Looking back at this whole year, I think it had a fair share of ups and downs for me. I had a rather difficult time around May and June, when I was rather depressed and when a friend passed away. But the end of the year was a great time for me, where I was able to enjoy myself, take a break from schoolwork and everything. I’m really glad I got to know Darren also, 3 years in fellowship and I only got to know him better now. To me, he’s someone really special. ^^
I guess the new year will be a busy one for me, since I have a major exam at the end of the year, and the teachers will start preparing us with tests and everything. Plus I have other commitments in church, which will probably mean lesser free time. But this domain is something that I will try my best to continue to keep up with. I simply can’t live without a site… XD
I’m off to enjoy the last moments of 2001. LOL.
The class BBQ last night went quite well, it was fun and everything. I didn’t really want to go at first, but I’m glad I decided to in the end. ^^ I ended up wading in the pool, watching them playing mahjong (which makes no sense to me), playing on the shaky swing… Till the fire finally stated at about 8.30pm. -.- Then later on Joel hurt his leg and everything… =( But he was really brave about it and everything.
When we started eating, we couldn’t finish all the food. There was still some satays, lots on chicken wings and all the cucumbers left. But everyone had a bite of the cake though (at least I think so), which tasted great. ^^ We just stuck our forks in and ate, so you can imagine how it looked like. -.-; I finally reached home at 11.30, did everything I needed to and fell fast asleep in bed. (Which was why there’s no post… I wanted to come online, but…)
When my parents really want to shop, it’s pretty scary. -.-; There was once we went to Hang Ten; the shop was pretty small, and we spent $100+ there. Yesterday my parents decided they would bring the whole family out to shop for new clothes, since my Dad was clearing his leave and there was a sale at the store. We ended up spending 6 hours at Metro, and spent about $600. I don’t remember having spent so much at 1 store before… -.-;
I decided to go for carolling after all, and it was a whole new experience for me. This year, we went to 3 organisations instead of others’ houses, a home for the elderly, a home for the intellectually disabled and a hospital. The elderly home was pretty ok, we just talked to the old folks there and gave them presents.
When we went to the home for the intellectually disabled, I was a little shocked, as it was nothing I had expected. It just kind of scared me to see so many people at the same time, something I was not used to. But after interecting with them, most of us felt more comfortable.
The hospital visit was the one I enjoyed the most. We went from ward to ward, and a dislysis ward. Some of the patients started crying when we sang for them, and others just enjoyed our presence there. We also prayed for a few of them. There was this lady who kept asking us to sing more songs after we finished each one. ^^;
We were supposed to end by 7pm, but we ended up returning to chuch at around 8pm and I got home at 9. It was really tiring, but really meaningful and fulfilling for me.
