yay for good results!

Posted in Events

Got back my O Level results today – 6 points! Came in second in school with 7 A1s (including express chinese) and 2 A2s and top for biology (with Gloria) and combined humanities. Really happy now, praise the Lord! Miss Thio was saying how the teachers were arguing over whether Adeline or I should be the top since she got 8 A1s and 1 B3 and I got 7 A1s and 2 A2s, so when you add them all up it’s the same and we can’t tie. But I’m not caring about that now. Yay! :)

Our cohort really made a great improvement in this year’s results, all the sciences and E maths had around 50% distinctions, same with combined huanities and pure geography. We have the best overall results in the past 10 years! I really hope Fairfield’s ranking will rise, I’m sure all the Fairsians, especially my batch will be really proud. :)

I’m really thankful for the 2 A2s I received – for A maths and higher chinese. I had so much problems with my A maths, especially the paper we took at a later date (was it paper 1 or 2?), so I was expecting a B for it. Same for higher chinese, I felt that I really screwed up my composition as I missed out on a lot of points plus there’s a lot of competition from Chinese scholars. No more chinese for me to take in JC, so that means more time for other subjects. :)

Praise God.

O Level results

Posted in School

The O Level results will be out this Friday. *Sigh* I was hoping that it would be out tomorrow or Thrusday, so we would get the next day off from school. :( So wasted! Arrgh why must MOE release it only on Friday. ><

talentime and a moody Jelvin

Went for Talentime yesterday and had dinner with the class later at Scotts. Talentime was nice, those who performed were good. Choir took the top 2 prizes for solo and the first and third prize for group. The choir guys who clinched first for the group category were really good; the item was very entertaining as well thanks to Zi Yang and his funny actions. When I was watching him on stage he really reminded me of Zihao, that was just the sort of thing I would expect Zihao to do. Haha. The guys really rocked. The dance category was of course won by Archie and the western dance group.

Dinner was a rather solemn affair though. Jelvin was rather moody the whole day and didn’t smile at all. I guess everyone else was somehow affected by it so we were more or less silent. I don’t understand why he got so upset though… It was because Chio Ling didn’t want to go for Art Club in the morning so he had to go alone, then An Qi and Lynn did want to go with him to Orchard to get Candice’s present; Lynn went with Shao Ru and I to Junction 8 instead. And that night no one wanted to go to KTV which I think he had booked or something. I mean maybe you would be miffed by all that, but why take it so personally and be upset over it the whole day? We were not against him or anything, just that somehow things turned out not that nicely for him. I don’t get why he’s so sensitive over that. The only time he started smiling was when Pei Ying joined us after cannoeing… I don’t believe that he doesn’t like her!

Left Orchard earlier with Lynn and Hui Yian, we just didn’t feel like walking around… plus it was getting rather late. Wonder if the rest enjoyed themselves after that.

horrid tests

Had 2 tests today: Chemistry and Biology. I’m absolutely certain I flunked both, as I couldn’t concentrate on studying yesterday so all I did was just to read through the notes. The Chem paper wasn’t that difficult actually, but the time they gave us was too short. Almost everyone didn’t finish the paper… I wrote crap for everything I couldn’t answer. When the time given is too short, people will usually start panicing, and when that happens they don’t think properly, so they’ll make lots of mistakes. Sigh. Oh well, the tests for the first 3 months in JC are not counted anyway.

O Level results will be out on the 28th this month… don’t feel like getting it back!

bad day

Happy Valentine’s Day! Nothing much happened today… the choir guys were really nice though, they bought roses for all the choir girls. Got lots of candy from my classmates, plus this small heart thing. Think I’ll pin it on my bag.

Had choir till 7.30. :( We didn’t know our parts really well, and ended up being scolded by Miss Lim and Mr Ang. So now we have to have extra sectionals tomorrow after the road-run. >< I have a feeling it’s going to be bad. Arrgh. I wish I didn’t have to go to school tomorrow.
