feeling cheated

We’ll be getting a half day on Thursday, but I feel cheated out of my holidays. We got a half day for canoeing, track and field, air rifle and the dance teams getting golds in the various competitions. We should get more than a half day, especially since not one, not two, but all four dance teams got a gold, which is an incredible feat in itself. We all want more holidays… but I know we’ll get nothing more. :(

The worst thing is that I won’t even be enjoying the half day off. After ending school at 1 there’s a meeting for those selected as well as those who signed up for the Biology olympiad followed by 2 rehersals for the Interact Club installation, which will officially take place in the evening. At first I thought I could at least get a few hours free, but then I got news of the extra rehersals. *sigh* So much for having a half day; it’s even longer than a normal day for me. At least on normal thursdays I end at 3pm, but I’ll be reaching home really late tomorrow. :( What to do… I’ll just have to live with it. Hopefully I’ll be able to get a good break this weekend.

Got to check my common test result slip today; only C Math and Biology were moderated. I’m not totally pleased with my results, but I know that there are people who would die to have mine, so I shall not complain. Must work harder the next time round!

Anyway, I was watching the interact exco during their rehersal for the installation today. During the dance Hui Yian just looked really lost to me; I think she was thinking about something, but I really can’t be sure. Maybe she’s just tired from the many days of preparations just like the rest of the exco members are. But after tomorrow they will hopefully be able to get a good break… just 1 day more!

tired…

Most people were hoping that we would get a half day today since both our canoeing teams won the gold medal in the recent National Schools Championships. We didn’t get a half day off in the end, Mrs Cheng said that it would be pushed to the end of the week or something. If another CCA gets a gold in some competition, we’ll probably end up only getting one half day off even though we should get double the free time. If every gold the school gets is equivalent to a half day for the students, then by now we should have had many days off school. Most unfortunately this is not the case. :( Well if the student body is not given time off school it’s understandable, considering that we were not the ones who went for competition, but the canoeists should really get a day off or something after many days of tiring competition. I hope we will get at least a half day off at the end of the week. After the rather hectic 2 weeks that have passed I just hope to spend a day home or something.

Sigma Fair

Sigma Fair went rather well today, at least for the “jurassic park” section. ;) Had to report at 8am, and when I reached school I met Mdm Xie, Mrs Rosalind Ho and some farisians at the school bus stop; they were receiving prizes for the Sigma Fair projects.

I had to do a presentation on innoculation for each group that came to out station, and most thankfully I got through it. The fairsians came to my lab (there were 2), followed by Mrs Ho and this new science teacher (I presume) afterwards, and she was telling him that I was an ex-fairsian. ^^; I wonder if she told the other fairsians there too… In any case I was rather surprised that she still remembers me, considering she taught me when I was in Sec 2, which was 3 years ago, and Mrs Ho is not good at remembering names. -.-

The whole progamme ended at 1pm, and somehow I felt rather tired after that. I had wanted to go for the ACJC interact club installation initially, but my parents wanted me home as we had to go to the airport to send my maid off in the afternoon, so I went back. Well… at least I got some sleep! ^^;

Still feeling tired now. Heh.

so happy!

Sigma Fair’s tomorrow, so we had to decorate the chemistry labs today. Besides the S&T people, only Lynn, Shi Leng, An Qi, Alwyn and I turned up. But doing the decorations wasn’t that bad at all even though we had to stay till rather late. We got to try on the lab coats, and someone (I think She Leng?) commented that Alwyn looked like a flasher in it, and Alwyn started flashing. He had his uniform on of course. :p

Lynn had to leave early, so after everything was done only Shi Leng, An Qi, Alwyn and I went for dinner at MacDonalds, and spent at least an hour there eating, talking and laughing. We started talking about our classmates, then the topic changed to crushes. We made Shi Leng tell us who he had a crush on as well as the girl in class he would mosty likely be attracted to. He said, and that’s a secret among us. :p We posed Alwyn the same questions, but he simply refused to answer. Thus all of us shall simply assume that it’s Qin Ning based on this old rumour that went around (though it’s 99% false). :p There were a lot of funny moments throughout the whole conversation, which ended in all of us laughing like crazy. I haven’t laughed that much or that hard recently, so it was absolutely great to be in such a happy mood. An Qi was so high she seemed drunk or something, LOL.

Reached home in time to watch the ending part of the amazing race. Damn, Millie and Chuck got eliminated, and Kelly and Jon beat them by just this bit! I hope Kelly and Jon will be eliminated next. I don’t like both of them; they seem so immature, calling other contestents (namely Millie and Chuck) names like “the mole” and “warewolf” repeatedly. Bah. As long as they don’t win…

Got news that the Fairfield Symphonic Band won gold for the SYF as well, congratulations to them! I’m sure Elaine Lim will really be jumping for joy now. The gold had eluded us for so long, and now we’ve finally got it, and for both the choir and band too! They say good things come in threes, so I wonder what the third good thing will be. Maybe the funfair being a great success? I certainly hope so!

I want PE!

I’ve missed so many PE lessons this term I can count the number of lessons I’ve had with 1 hand. During the common tests there was no PE, and on the following monday which was Youth Day there was no school as well. Last week we ended at 3pm everyday besides friday when we ended at 1pm, so PE lessons for that week were missed as well. We had a half day yesterday, and from today till friday the PE teachers will be away supporting the canoists for their competitions; that’s another 2 PE lessons missed. This is only the 4th week of the term, and the class has only had 1 miserable lesson. I need exercise!
