school, school, school

Had my first official Bio S lesson today. It wasn’t too bad because it was just presentations by the various groups on the research they had done. Once in a while someone would say something funny, and everyone else would be laughing. But I’m still considering whether to change to Physics S. I don’t have problems with doing all the research and writing abstracts for Bio S, but reading up well enough for every topic will be a big problem. And I can’t score for the essay like that since I can’t go in depth and way beyond the A Level syllabus…

Ching Soon’s been getting into quite some trouble with the teachers for skipping lessons and not doing work, especially Mrs Khoo. She was complaining about him again today as he didn’t turn up for the tutorial. Well she was the one who told him he would be banned from all lessons for 2 weeks if he still didn’t hand in his holiday assignment, and he chose to miss lessons instead of doing the assignement and handing it in. I wonder how many times she has complained about him to Mr Bek, because Mr Bek came in during lunch today to speak to us about Ching Soon. He was telling us to try to make him more involved in class activities and all that… I’m sure there are people who have tried to, but it takes 2 hands to clap. He’s really smart, so he can still manage to do resonably while even though he skips more than half the lessons on some days. Imagine if he actually works hard as well, he’d be a straight A student no doubt. But I kind of admire him for daring to skip so many lessons too. ^^ ;

Had a tiring day today and I’m a bit sick too… stupid flu. So many people are down with flu, fever and cough, in some way thanks to this bad weather. Thankfully it’s getting better and not raining so often now.

to change or not to change?

PE today was even worse than on monday. This time round all the stations were in a way tougher. They left me aching even more badly than before. -.- Maybe mass PE is too effective or something, because I never used to ache when we did PE in our own classes. Can’t slack that much during mass PE! Especially at Jaclyn Lim’s stations. She’s tough. I just hope I can get out of bed tomorrow morning without any pain. Heh.

I’m seriously considering changing my Bio S paper to Physics S instead. I don’t really like the way Bio S lessons are carried out, and there’s no syllabus for it as well. It means that a lot of extra reading up from textbooks as well as science magazines are required in order to write a good essay (which is at least 4 sides long), and I don’t think I will commit to something like that. I like it when I know what I’m expected to learn. But I don’t know if I will be able to do well in Physics S, especially in the mathematical areas. In Physics S is on tuesday, making my mondays and tuesdays even more unbearable. Especially tuesday, which is a full day for me. I’ll just go for Bio S this friday and see how the lesson goes, and make my decision after that. Then it’s up to the teacher in charge to see if I’m allowed to change…

cold and in pain

I’m aching now from PE yesterday. -.- We had mass PE, and we just went around the different stations doing the various exercises they had for us. The stations we not that bad actually, except for one – the 90 degree sit-up. It was my first time doing that, but we were made to do it a total of 105 times in 3 sets. The first set was ok, but after that my neck was hurting so I just cheated on the exercise by just moving my hands when we were supposed to lie on our backs, lift our legs up vertically and touch our feet with our hands. I must have done something wrong. It still hurts now… I can look down as well as to the sides, but I can’t tilt my head without feeling the pull of the muscles. -.- I hope we’re not doing the same thing for PE tomorrow, because I can’t! Not with my neck hurting anyway.

The weather’s been really dreary over the past few days. It’s been raining everyday. I like rainy days, but going to school in such bad weather, and freezing yourself in the already cold lecture theatres is absolutely not good. My jacket doesn’t even seem to help these days. Seems like quite a few people are sick too… Jelvin and Yi Xin are absent today… It’s like people are taking turns to be absent from school. -.- Rain rain go away…

school again ><

After 5 days of enjoyment and going out, I really don’t feel like going back to school tomorrow. And I seriously think the teachers are out to kill us with all the tutorials we are expected to complete for this week. Hey they should know that must of us will be enjoying ourselves and not do any work until the very last minute. I bet quite a lot of people are rushing their work now. -.- Having a chemistry test during s paper lesson (sheesh… first official lesson and they want to test us to see our standard…) tomorrow doesn’t help either. I’m going to flunk it since I can’t be bothered to study and only flipped through the notes. Heh. And there’s still research on the topic for bio s and BMORE stuff to be done! *screams* I hate this. I really dread school because the hours are so long and there’s really nothing to look forward to. Not like in secondary school when school was at least shorter and not so tiring. Heh.

I really enjoyed myself during the chinese new year holidays though. It was great going out with the class people on new year’s eve and with the 4A girls on saturday. The other days were spent going out with my parents, splurging on stuff. Out of the 5 days I’ve been out I bought stuff on 4 of those days… It’s the fault of all those sales. ^^ ; But I haven’t been shopping for quite long before this, so I guess it isn’t that bad?

I don’t know why but recently I get tired really easily, especially on school days. Somtimes at 10pm I’m already so tired, so I don’t touch any work and go straight to bed. I don’t know what I’m going to do when S paper lessons official begin this week, and later on as the workload increases. I can’t exactly carry on being tired like that. The only good this is that at least U’ve been awake through the lectures (with the exception of 1) so far. Wonder how long I can keep that up… *sigh*

idol season 3 begins!

Just finished watching American Idol 3. It’s going to be shown twice a week now compared to just once last time. Why? I think the guy who sang for the pope has a nice voice, but still no one can replace Clay. I miss seeing him on tv. :(

It’s funny how some people believe that they can sing when it’s obvious that they can’t. Well I don’t blame them for going for the auditions, but when all 3 judges say that they are bad, they should know better than to insist that they are so good. Especially when it’s totally out of tune! There was this guy who claimed that he had such a great voice, and was even better than the others who got in the next round. But when he started singing, it was obvious that he was nowhere near the top. Yet he still believed that he was a great singer after the audition… -.- I shall not go into that.

Will they find another Clay this season?
