lost?

I passed Shi Leng my autograph book a few weeks ago, but he misplaced it and know it can’t be found. I’m not angry or anything, just a bit upset if it really can’t be found. After all, quite a few people have already written in it. Looking on the brighter side, thankfully I decided to use a new book instead of continuing with the one I used in secondary school. Otherwise I would have been seriously upset and pissed since there’s no way I can get those autographs back. If it still can’t be found now at least I can ask those who have written to rewrite, even though it won’t be the same. I really hope it can be found soon…

New layout by the way. :)

Lantern Fun-tasy 2004

I was at the Chinese garden with boy on saturday, where there was a display of these large lanterns. There were 2 themes: Magical Disney Stories and The Legend of Journey to the West. Since it was the weekend it got rather crowded as the night set in, but nevertheless it was nice just to walk around and take in the sights. Plus I haven’t seen him in more than 2 weeks prior to this, so it was great to be able to spend some time together. :) Some photos can be found here.

meeting no. 4

We’ve just finished our fourth meeting for the year today in fellowship. One last meeting at the end of the year to go before I take a break from serving and all those meetings next year. It’s great to be given the opportunity to serve, but after doing so for the past 4 years it’s good to take a break and look at things from another perspective.

The committee today is just so different from the committee we used to have. In the past the committee was closer. Whenever we had meetings it was just so natural that everyone would gather after church to go for lunch before meeting began. Some days we even ordered food to the office, like that time when we spent quite a lot on KFC. ^^ ; Nowadays it’s so hard to even gather the whole committee together for lunch, and people just go off everywhere after church. The same goes for after the meeting. Is it that nowadays we are just getting more and more busy? I guess it was these small little things, plus all the camps and activities that the committee did together that made us closer as a whole back then. When all of us squeezed into the meeting room at the holland office, to some extent I would even discribe the feeling as cozy. You just felt comfortable there with everyone else, and meetings could even be fun. Nowadays you don’t get that feeling.

a bible

A few weeks ago, Jireh passed me a bible. It was passed to him by Eugene, who wrote his prayer items in the book and passed it around the fellowship. As I was reading through it I was just touched that we’re constantly on his mind, and that he has been praying for us despite having “graduated” from fellowship long ago. I know that many of our seniors really do care for the fellowship and everyone here, and some of them have even come back to serve. Yet so often we don’t appreciate everything that they have done for us.

As for the current seniors within the fellowship, as well as the committee, how often do we actually think of the fellowship, think of each and every person there and pray for them? I think that we all have the tendency to get so caught up with our school work and other commitments that sometimes we just neglect the needs of the fellowship. I know I’m guilty of this too. Maybe if we really show more concern to our juniors and lead by example, we can bring back the fellowhip to the place that it used to be, where everyone was so much closer and you could just feel that it was like a family.
