comment spam

The comment spam on my blog was increasing and starting to get out of hand. It’s really irritating having to delete those comments one by one and have them come back again the next day, even after putting comments from certain IPs under moderation.

Will provided a solution that seems to have solved my problems for now. For those who want to try it, just place the following code into your .htaccess file.

RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} ^http://12.163.72.13
RewriteRule ^(.*) /asshole-bot

Wordpress users may also want to try this Auto Close Comments plugin to close off comments from posts of a specified number of days old.

practicals are finally done.

I’m typing with only my left hand and 2 fingers now, thanks to what happened during chemistry practical. There was part of the QA which required us to add sodium hydroxide to the sample and heat it. Just as I was about to test for any gas evolved, the whole thing spurt out onto my hand. It’s not so much about the sodium hydroxide, but more of the solution being really hot. Even after running my hand under the tap for a while, it still hurt while writing. Felt as though the whole layer of skin was going to come off. -.- At least it’s no longer red now nor does it hurt as badly as before. Sigh. If only this kind of “luck” came for better things.

Looking on the bright side, at least all the practicals are over now. It’s exactly a week to the start of the written papers, which I really need to put more effort into to pull up my marks, because I don’t think I did all that well in all the practicals. All the accuracy kind of disappeared after the
prelims. -.- Sigh. Must work harder!

last prac

Chenistry practical tomorrow, the last of the 3. After the disastrous practical for prelims, there’s this worry that the same thing may happen again and I’ll screw up. And at this point of time nothing from my QA notes seems to be going into my head… I think I’m freaking myself out. -.- At least being in shift 3 tomorrow gives me some time to look through my notes before the exam.

No combined kinetics with titration tomorrow please… that’s the greatest evil of all chemistry experiments. >< And the people from the first 2 shifts had better not contaminate the reagents. ><

I hope everything goes well...

umm.

I’m feeling groggy now… it’s like that kind of feeling you get when you have a fever and your brain isn’t working right, but I’m not having a fever or anything at all. I guess I’m just tired because I didn’t sleep enough last night. -.-

Thanks boy for cooking lunch for me today and last week, it was so nice of you. :) Come to think of it, how many guy at this age can cook properly and are willing to cook for someone else? Too bad I can’t cook anything else besides instant noodles and campbell soup (which I bet everyone can) unless I have a recipe. ^^;

this is it.

It’s Bio practical tomorrow, and I’m stressed because I have no mood to study, yet I know I must. And when I try to study nothing seems to go in at all. Sigh. Hopefully the questions won’t take me by surprise tomorrow, because I have this immense ability to freak out during practicals, and it gets worse when I have no idea what I’m doing. Seriously speaking, I fear taking practical exams more than written ones. (At least that’s what I feel now.)

After 2 years of JC life, and spending the last few months busy mugging away; after all the “I hope to see 100% As and Bs”; after all the “you’re A levels are on the way, buck up!”, this is it.

This is it.

What all JC students have been preparing so hard for. I feel unprepared, but I want to get this over and done with as soon as possible. With good grades (hopefully) in the end of course.

All the best to those taking the Os and As, mug hard!
