last week

The weekend is just about to end, yet it feels as though my weekend has just begun. Back to another week of work again. This week will be my last week though. I’ll be taking a break during the week of Chinese New Year, and spend more time with him since he has 6 days out. After that I will most probably training some students from his school’s science quiz team to prepare them for the quiz, but I’ll have to meet up with his teacher before everything can be finalised. If the job is confirmed I guess I may take up tuition or some freelance stuff since this job would only take up 2 hours each time, 2 days a week. I’ll also have time then to learn driving and do some other things I want.

Speaking of him, he came with me to church for service today, and I’m glad about that. But he had to book in today, after coming out of camp only the day before. That means that we only had less than 24 hours with each other… and this time he’ll be in camp for 9 days, which is long by my standards. Not as long as the initial 2 weeks, but still… plus they have firing sessions for 3 consecutive days, so he won’t have much time to call or anything then since they’ll be spending the whole day at the firing range, only to return to their bunks late at night to catch some sleep in preparation for the next day. Looking on the bright side, the worst is yet to come. 3 days is nothing compared to the 7 day field camp he’ll be going for right after Chinese New Year, where we will have absolutely no contact at all. Sigh. Time together with him has become such a rarity these days…

short update

Something is seriously wrong with the internet on my conputer. I have a feeling that the problem lies with the wireless card, but I have no idea how to fix it. Arrgh. But then again I’m not online much these days, I more or less only come online on weekends or when I end work early. I’ve been working overtime almost everyday. I must say that the first few times were really tiring, but now it’s ok because I’m used to it. The work seems to be neverending, possibly because sales have increased during the Chinese New Year season. But I enjoy working with most of the people there, especially those that sit around me. Makes working better because you have someone to talk to, complain, or joke with.

Liang Song sent me a letter and an invitation to go to fellowship, which I received today. The few of us from my batch only went for the first week, and no one really went after that because for the past few weeks all of us had different things on, and whoever was free didn’t want to go alone. I guess it’s because of the different environment as compared to our old fellowship. It feels a bit akward to be the youngest again, and being in a fellowship with people so much older than you, plus the activities they have as well as the meeting times are so different from what I was used to. I guess it just takes time to adapt, and everything will be much better once we all get confortable there. I’m the sort that hates changes, and once I get used to something new I would rather that the status quo be maintained. Won’t be going down tomorrow night though, maybe next week or something?

19!

Happy birthday to me! :) I spent the morning with him today to celebrate my birthday. He made spaghetti for the both of us, and we had cake after that. It’s the second year I’ve had a cake in a really long time… last year’s one was bought for me by some of the class people. There was actually ice cream too, but since he was sick and I was quite full we didn’t eat it. But it’s ok, we can have it next week. :) He bought me this rather big eeyore soft toy because I casually mentioned to him the other day that I wanted something to hug because my piglet was getting flat, but I didn’t mean it as a hint for what I want. I love the eeyore though. :)

It’s a pity he’s on his was to book-in now, otherwise we could have spent more time together. But I know he has already spent whatever time he could with me, despite him being tired and down with flu at the same time. I’m really thankful and appreciative of that. Just hope that he won’t fall sick in the coming week there.

Thanks to everyone who wished me a happy birthday today as well, you all really made my day. :) Lynn, Jun, Anju, Yong Sian, Joanna, Linda, Pei Ying, Amenda, Hui Yun, Allen, Darren, Lin Lin, Hannah, Hui Yian, Wee Kiang, Qin Ning, Angela and Winnie, Thanks to you guys!

so fast

Spent the whole afternoon and night with him today. We headed for town, which I think wasn’t the best place to go on a public holiday since it was terribly crowded there. But the company matters so much more than the place. :)

In less than 24 hours he would be back in Tekong. 3 days have passed, yet it only feels like yesterday when he first booked out and met me after my work in his army uniform. Why must time pass so fast when you’re enjoying yourself? I wish the seconds would just drag on so that tomorrow won’t come so fast and he won’t have to leave so soon… that we could spend more time together and enjoy ourselves…
