I tried calling the NUS Office of Admissions this whole morning, only to find that I couldn’t get throught the hotline. Either the line was down or somehow there were a lot of calls going in today. After dialing more than 10 times (and seriously thinking of giving up), I finally got through. I had expected to hear a person’s voice on the other end, but what I got was one of those really irritating computerised messages. “If you want this, please press 1, and for this, please press 2…” And after having to listen to the whole message saying that applications this year could only be submitted online and all that, I finally got through to the admissions officer.
If people wanted to call in, it would most probably be that they have some queries, right? I really don’t see then point of them using an automated message, because what was pre-recorded wasn’t in any way helpful at all.
Anyway, I was told that for those paying by credit card and have their payment staus as “payment processing” would be considered as having paid the application fee. But we have to keep checking the status of our payment to make sure that it changes. If there’s a problem processing the payment, a grace period will be given to make another payment. So if anyone else was wondering about the same thing, no worries now. :)
