if only i had a photographic memory

Microbiology is driving me nuts! It takes forever to even finish studying one chapter, and time is really not on my side right now. Why am I online then? Because I really can’t stand staring at the notes anymore.

2 more sets of lecture notes to go, plus all the tutorials, the practical and hopefully I’ll still have a bit of time to look through the past year exam questions.

And then tomorrow afternoon I’ll be rushing to finish studying Cell Biology for the exam on friday.

It’s the last week of exams, and normally this is the time when people are starting to relax a little because most of their papers are over. But I have 3 papers this week, with 2 on the last 2 days of the exam period. The worst is at the end! Arrgh.

I feel so tired mentally, and I’m so sick of studying, but I just have to bear with it for 2 more days!

さようなら フルバ

一緒に 手をつないで
うれしいことや かなしいことをくり返して
そうやって 歳を重ねていくんだよ

(I shall not attempt to translate the above even though I get the gist of it. Let’s wait for someone more proficient in the language to do it!)

It was so good while it lasted. *sniff* A simple drawing of 2 people standing together, hand in hand… that alone already says so much. I can’t wait till the translation comes out, so I can understand more of what’s being said. But for now, the scans are good enough. :)

I wonder what 高屋せんせい’s new manga will be like! After reading Fruits Basket and Honey and Clover (I’m halfway through actually, but I’ve finished wating the anime), it’s going to be tough to find a new manga or anime that can match up to these! But let’s leave the whole find a new anime/manga thing till after the exams.

But before I’m done with this post, I really want the latest issue of Hana to Yume! The Kinokuniya shipment list doesn’t show that it’s arrived yet, but it’s out in Japan already. On the 20th, in fact. And it’s usually sold here at around the same time it goes on sale in Japan. I don’t have time to go down to Kinokuniya tomorrow to see if they have it. :(

what a heavy downpour!

It’s raining cats and dogs outside right now.

The rain is already somewhat lighter as compared to some minutes ago, but it’s still pretty heavy. I had shut all the windows, but I could still hear the wind howling outside. The door of my parent’s bedroom kept slamming shut. Raindrops were splattered all over the windows, and the rain was getting into the toilets because of the “windows” in there. It has been raining pretty heavily for the past couple of days, but today’s rain is the heaviest I’ve seen in quite a while.

I was looking out of my bedroom window and I saw a pretty old uncle pushing his bicycle in the rain. He was heading towards the nearest shelter, and braving the wind and the rain to do so. I really wouldn’t want to be caught in the rain when it’s raining like this. 2 days ago, I had to leave the house when it was pouring to go for my exam. I thought that it was already bad enough to have to walk to the train station in that sort of weather, but if I had to do the same thing right now… it would be so much worse. I’d be totally drenched even with an umbrella.

I like rainy days when I’m somewhere sheltered, feeling nice, warm and dry. Just sitting indoors and listening to the sound of the rain outside. But where does all that rain come from? It’s been pouring for many days in a row, and I really do wonder how do the clouds hold that much rain.

do your own laundry!

Feeling quite frustrated now.

There’s a pile of clothes to be folded, and laundry to be done. And I’m left to do it when I’m having my exams. I’m not pissed because I have to do the laundry, but I’m unhappy because other people are free and no one bothers to help! I really won’t mind doing it if I’m free, or if other people are busy. But if they can sit there, relax and enjoy themselves, why can’t they just help with the laundry instead?!

I feel bad because it’s really a very small matter to be unhappy about, but it really is frustrating when it happens time and time again. It makes me just want to leave the whole pile of clothes there, and if anyone wants to wear anything, go and dig it up yourself or fold your own clothes. Why am I always the one that’s expected to do this and that when it’s obvious that I’m not free sometimes while other people are? That’s something I really cannot understand. Do you mean that guys cannot do the laundry, or their hand will rot if they have to touch the detergent, or if they have to fold the clothes? Don’t expect that the females to always be the ones doing your laundry.

no more physio!

Thanks to everyone who wished me all the best for the exams! I didn’t manage to reply everyone, but I really appreciate the thought. To the rest who are having their papers, all the best as well! :)

The physiology paper was finally over yesterday, but I have this nagging feeling that I screwed it up a little. The standard of the paper was significantly higher than those from the past few years (seems to always happen in my year), and I really had nothing much to write for the essay sections. Of course, short answers doesn’t mean that they’re no good, but when you’re so used to the 1 point 1/2 a mark type of grading system used in secondary school and JC (which equates to having to write a lot), you just feel that something is wrong when you don’t even hit 1 page for a 10 mark question. Oh well, no use thinking about it anymore since it’s already being marked right now. Shall work harder for the other papers instead! And not get so distracted by other things.

5pm is really a bad time to be having an exam, because before the exam even starts I’m tired already, and my brain feels half dead. And it gets so cold in the exam hall! I really wonder how people who wear shorts and short skirts can stand the cold. (Do they even feel cold?) The worst experience I had was last year, when I was shivering halfway through the exam even though I was wearing jeans and had my jacket on. I couldn’t sit still, much less write properly. The only good thing about the cold is that it keeps you awake throughout the paper. Haha.

4 more papers to go! x.X
